I love seeing prompts alongside AI-generated art — I don’t think we see it enough, so I want to start sharing a few of the words behind some of the AI image sets I’ve created over the past few years, starting with the most recent.
I wanted to test ChatGPT’s new image generator by seeing how easily I could generate some vibey images for Disco Inferno.
Here’s how it went:
“Create Image: Beautiful desert scene at dusk, postcard-esque.”
“Great. Now let's make a new image — a super macro shot of golden liquid and droplets, almost microscopic. Lighting has glamour-shot vibes, and the overall image looks like it was shot on film.”
“Amazing. Now even closer, as if it's in a petri dish or in a slide under a microscope.”
“Now let's take that world from the previous image, and add a drink with liquid pouring into it. The kind of drink that makes you know that it's spicy. But keep the overall vibes classy and timeless.”
“Amazing. Let's make another one — totally different glass — a martini with a scotch bonnet pepper in it. The background should be from the 2nd image generated in this chat, not the 3rd.”
“Amazing. Can we lower the camera angle, lengthen the focal length, and make the glass have a wavy stem?”
“Great. Now let's make a funky Nick & Nora glass with a bird's eye chili sprig in it, with a white drink in the glass. The sun has gone down a bit further, and we have a new, more bare desert scene in the background.”
“Love this. Now let's play with the shape of the cocktail glass — straighten the stem, but give me a weirder top coupe part. But still classy. The drink should be rose colored, with a wild rose incorporated into the scene or drink somehow. The sun has gone down a little bit more.”
Things suddenly became less vibey and I could’t get back on track:

So I moved on to cinnamon:
“Let's go back to the brighter desert sunset setup — but no cacti, just mountains, and hot vibes. Let's make a new drink in a collins glass, with cinnamon. Red hot cinnamon vibes, but remember to keep it classy and timeless.”
“Perfect but make the glass skinnier and no foot on the glass please, just a heavy thick bottom base. But the glass itself should be very thin and elegant.”
I abandoned ship and gave the initial scene one more try, attaching the earlier drink photo:
“Let's go back to this land from earlier, change up the formation of the bubbles in the background a bit, and make the drink a Shirley Temple — it should be glistening, refreshing, sparkling, splashing…”
And with that, I ended the chat.
Hope you enjoyed!
More soon,
